I started writing short stories as an undergraduate at the University of Michigan. After college and through law school, a career as a journalist and then entrepreneur, I tried committing more time to writing, but there was this thing called life.

I’ve finished a number of full-length manuscripts and all are safely tucked in various desk drawers.

The rise of social media helped me find my voice and audience with In A Foreign Land, my blog which chronicles our family's time living as expats in London.

Since moving back to the States I’ve published more than 30 short stories and essays in publications from the New York Times to the Washington Jewish Week.

After years as a reporter covering Capitol Hill and the White House I’ve now published more than 400 articles, essays and short stories in over 90 publications.

During my time at the White House Bulletin, when our kids were first born, I wrote from 5:00 AM to midday and then spent my afternoons creating OpEd Online, a subscription online resource for editorial page editors.

In 1998 I purchased a market research publishing business from FIND/SVP.  In 2001 I launched MarketResearch.com, moving the business from a single publisher to a distributor of hundreds of market research providers.

The business evolved through a series of acquisitions. MarketResearch.com now sells research through its MarketResearch.com, Profound and Knowledge Center platforms.  As well as our owned publishing brands, including Packaged Facts; Simba Information; and The Freedonia Group which includes Freedonia Focus Reports and a custom research practice.

Today MarketResearch.com is the largest retailer of market research information with a catalog of 700 publishers and 1,000,000 reports sold to 7,000 clients annually.

With the kids all out of college I have more time and in 2023 I published six short stories and three newspaper essays plus a number of personal and professional blogs.
